DESIGN CONTEXT

This Space Age lighted mirror by Allstar was produced in West Germany during the 1960s, when plastics and compact electrical components were reshaping the design of everyday personal objects.

Its cream plastic body forms a rounded architectural frame around the mirror, accented by a narrow red ring that gives the piece an unmistakably graphic identity. The mirror rotates within the structure and offers two different surfaces: a standard mirror on one side and a magnifying mirror on the other.
