DESIGN CONTEXT

This space age wall unit was produced in Italy during the 1970s and perfectly captures the optimism of the plastic revolution that transformed domestic design during the late twentieth century. Combining bold geometry with practical functionality, it reflects the same experimental spirit that made modular plastic storage systems iconic design objects.

Featuring twelve storage compartments of varying sizes and four metal hooks, the organiser offers versatile storage for stationery, tools, mail, accessories or everyday objects. The rich deep blue colour enhances the sculptural quality of the moulded plastic, allowing the piece to function equally well as wall storage and decorative wall art.

Strongly reminiscent of the celebrated Uten.Silo by Dorothee Becker and the innovative storage systems produced by Visiva Milano, this space age wall unit is not presented as one of those models but as an authentic Italian interpretation of the same design language.
