Toucans, Spiders, Dogs and Wild Boars, Mammooth’s tooth and Mouses… a suprising flow of creativity that cross the traditional schemes of design with representations of animals.
Sometimes these amazing pieces were conceived by famous designers’… but even more often, they were the offspring of anonymous creators and artisans.
Take the incredible iron and glass lamps produced in the 40s and 50s… You can find some of these lamps in the gardens of villas of nice italian suburbs – although they were not intended for outdoor use (that’s why they are soo rare). Or the plastic imaginative toucans of Enea Ferrari for OldTimer, or Fernando Cassetta Rufus Dog for Tacman Manara….
These rare pieces are sometimes scary, sometimes quirky, sometimes lovely… but always as unique as your favourite pet.
