These wooden Sputnik table lamps, dating approximately to the 1960s, combine the warmth of traditional woodwork with the futuristic forms of early Space Age design. Their elongated, tapered bodies and three sharply angled legs create a distinctive rocket-inspired silhouette.
Each lamp features a carefully shaped wooden body supported by three angled legs. The light source is recessed into the upper opening, revealing a contrasting light blue interior that adds an unexpected touch of color to the dark wood exterior. The compact construction emphasizes the sculptural character of the lamps, while the upward-facing opening provides decorative accent lighting.
The design reflects the fascination with rockets, satellites and space exploration that influenced domestic objects during the late 1950s and 1960s. Unlike the brightly colored plastics often associated with later Space Age interiors, these lamps express the same futuristic vocabulary through the natural warmth and texture of wood.
Presented as a matching pair, the lamps create an appealing visual rhythm through their slender proportions and geometric tripod bases. Their compact dimensions make them particularly suitable for bedside tables, sideboards or decorative accent lighting.
Both lamps retain their original E14 sockets, while the electrical cables, switches and plugs have been replaced. An original label is present. They are preserved in excellent vintage condition, with minor wood losses and surface marks consistent with age and use. Each lamp measures approximately 16 × 16 × 25 cm.
