This vintage Ritz wall clock captures the graphic energy of Italian design at the turn of the 1970s. Its compact square case combines a warm cream frame with a vivid orange field, while the large circular dial introduces bold black numerals, geometric hands and a contrasting red seconds hand.
The clock bears the Ritz name on the dial, a brand associated with Ritz-Italora, the Italian manufacturer known for its innovative clocks during the late 1960s and 1970s. Ritz-Italora was active during an especially experimental period in Italian product design, producing objects that explored new plastics, strong colors and increasingly graphic forms.
This example is particularly appealing for its balance between functional simplicity and Pop-era visual language. The rounded numerals, intense orange background and restrained square format give it a distinctive period presence without making it difficult to place in a contemporary interior.
The rear of the case retains part of its original black plastic cover, carrying operating instructions in Italian. The cover is partially missing. The clock is currently fitted with a Kienzle battery movement, which appears likely to be a later replacement.
A compact and highly decorative piece of vintage Italian design, ideal for a kitchen, study or living space and particularly appealing to collectors of 1960s and 1970s clocks and graphic objects.
