This distinctive Coca-Cola wall lamp from the 1980s transforms one of the most recognizable symbols of commercial packaging into an illuminated decorative object. Shaped like an oversized crown cork, the lamp combines bold red plastic, familiar Coca-Cola graphics and a sculptural three-dimensional form.
The design faithfully reproduces the characteristic profile of a metal bottle cap, with a circular front and deeply fluted edges. Its generous diameter of 26 cm gives the object a strong visual presence, while its shallow 7 cm depth allows it to sit close to the wall.
When illuminated, the translucent white Coca-Cola lettering stands out against the vibrant red surface. The result is an expressive graphic composition that functions simultaneously as a light source, an advertising object and a piece of Pop-inspired wall decoration.
The lamp belongs to a tradition of promotional design in which familiar commercial symbols were transformed into desirable domestic objects. During the 1980s, advertising imagery increasingly crossed into interior decoration, reflecting the continuing influence of Pop Art and the growing appeal of branded collectibles.
Although marketed by Brainstorm Creative Group, an American promotional marketing company founded in 1983, the lamp was manufactured in France by an unidentified producer. Its original labels document this connection and provide an important reference for the object’s provenance.
The construction consists of a molded red plastic shade, an aluminium socket holder and a Bakelite E14 lamp holder. The original electrical specification indicates a maximum bulb wattage of 25 W.
With its unmistakable Coca-Cola identity and playful oversized proportions, the lamp makes a compelling addition to an industrial interior, a Pop Art-inspired space or a collection of vintage advertising objects. Its combination of recognizable branding, unusual form and decorative lighting gives it an appeal that extends beyond conventional wall lamps.
