Designed by Enrico Tronconi for Tronconi in 1970s Italy, these Chrome Eyeball Lamps capture the fascination with movement, reflection and compact geometry that defined much of Space Age lighting. Each lamp combines a highly reflective chrome-plated structure with a spherical shade that can be rotated to direct the light, transforming a practical object into a small kinetic sculpture.
The design is particularly effective because the mechanism remains visually present. The black side element contrasts with the mirrored chrome surface, while the white interior of the shade concentrates and reflects the light. Compact proportions make the lamps equally convincing on a desk, shelf or bedside table, while their construction also allows them to be mounted on the wall.
Used as a pair, the repeated spherical forms create a strong architectural rhythm. Individually, each lamp retains the graphic presence characteristic of experimental Italian lighting of the 1970s. Their combination of adjustable light, polished metal and mechanical simplicity places them firmly within the language of Italian Space Age design.
