These chrome eyeball wall lamps from the 1970s embody the experimental spirit of Space Age lighting. Their highly reflective spherical shades, compact proportions and adjustable supports create a distinctive balance between sculptural form and practical directional illumination.
Each lamp features a polished chrome-finished metal shade with an open front and a series of circular perforations arranged along the curved surface. These openings introduce a graphic detail to the otherwise smooth, mirrored volume. The contrast between the reflective chrome and the white-painted metal components gives the design a precise, almost technical character.
The spherical shades are mounted on articulated supports, allowing the light to be directed according to the surrounding space. Their compact dimensions make the pair particularly suitable for bedside lighting, reading areas or decorative wall compositions. Installed together, the lamps create a rhythmic arrangement of reflective forms that changes with the angle of the light.
The design reflects the fascination with industrial materials, spherical geometries and adaptable domestic lighting that characterized the 1970s. The combination of perforated metal surfaces and polished chrome gives these wall lamps a distinctive futuristic identity, while their functional construction remains remarkably versatile.
This matching pair has never been used and is preserved in excellent vintage condition, with only minimal signs of age and storage. Both lamps have been tested and are working.
