This red space age lamp captures the sculptural experimentation that transformed Italian lighting design during the late 1960s and 1970s. Produced in glossy ceramic and built as a single continuous volume interrupted by geometric openings, the lamp recalls the architectural approach explored by iconic Italian pieces such as Marcello Cuneo’s Longobarda lamp, where light is filtered indirectly through cuts and voids rather than exposed sources.
Compact yet visually strong, the spherical body creates a balanced dialogue between object and illumination. When switched off, the lamp reads almost like a sculptural ceramic object thanks to its pure rounded silhouette and saturated glossy red finish. Once illuminated, the internal light diffuses horizontally through the four openings, generating a warm atmospheric glow that transforms nearby surfaces and creates a softer, more cinematic environment.
This red space age lamp works particularly well on sideboards, bedside tables, modular shelving systems or low seating areas, especially within interiors inspired by Italian futuristic design from the 1960s and 1970s. The vivid red ceramic surface also makes it an effective accent piece inside more neutral or minimal spaces, introducing rhythm and color without overwhelming the room.
