These 1970s wall mounted plastic cabinets were produced by the Dutch manufacturer Flair and represent a clear example of practical Space Age storage design. Made in thermoformed plastic, the pair combines compact proportions with functional detailing typical of many European plastic furniture pieces from the 1970s.
Each cabinet features a slightly slanted profile with integrated ribbed handles, an internal shelf, and a lower flap compartment. The use of molded plastic allowed manufacturers like Flair to create lightweight storage objects that were durable, easy to clean, and visually distinctive. These 1970s wall mounted plastic cabinets reflect the period’s fascination with modular domestic storage and innovative materials.
The two cabinets are finished in contrasting color combinations: one in orange and white, the other in brown and beige. This vibrant palette enhances their sculptural presence while remaining faithful to the bold aesthetic language of Space Age interiors.
Designed to be mounted using keyhole slots on the back, they can also be used freestanding if desired. Today these 1970s wall mounted plastic cabinets are appreciated not only as functional storage pieces but also as collectible examples of Dutch plastic design from the late modernist era.
