These plastic wall cabinets produced by Flair during the 1970s reflect a more geometric and functional approach to late modernist storage design. Manufactured in thermoformed plastic, the pair combines compact proportions with integrated utility, expressing the growing interest in modular domestic systems and synthetic materials that defined many European interiors of the decade.
Each cabinet features a slightly slanted profile, ribbed integrated handles, an internal shelf and a lower flap compartment. The molded construction allowed manufacturers such as Flair to produce lightweight storage units that were durable, easy to clean and visually distinctive. More than simple utility objects, these plastic wall cabinets embody the rational and graphic language that emerged in parallel with the more futuristic side of 1970s design.
The contrasting color combinations — orange and white, brown and beige — reinforce the visual rhythm of the pair while remaining deeply rooted in the chromatic experimentation of the period. Mounted together, the cabinets create a strong architectural composition on the wall; separated, they function as flexible modular storage elements adaptable to different interiors.
Originally designed for wall mounting through rear keyhole slots, the cabinets can also be used freestanding if desired. Today they are appreciated not only as practical storage pieces but also as collectible examples of geometric plastic furniture from the late modernist era.
