DESIGN CONTEXT

A rare and highly collectible pair of 1970s Toucan lamps designed by Enea Ferrari for Old Timer Ferrari. An iconic expression of Italian Pop Space Age design, this duo perfectly captures the playful yet functional spirit of postwar plastic modernist experimentation.

The set features two complementary color variations: one with a vivid yellow body and red base, the other in inverted red and yellow tones. Their sculptural silhouettes, graphic circular eyes and adjustable beige beaks create a bold visual dialogue when displayed together.

Originally conceived in 1970 and widely recognized as one of the earliest children-oriented design lamps, the Toucan merges decorative presence with directional lighting. The pivoting beak acts as a shade, allowing soft, focused illumination.
