Beautiful pair of Eclisse lamps designed by Vico Magistretti in 1965 and produced by Artemide in the 60s / 70s.
This lamp was designed in 1965 while travelling in the Milan metro, on the back of a ticket. Magistretti was inspired by the description of a lantern in the book Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.
These iconic lamps are made of an orange painted aluminium globe on top of a half round base. The white aluminium half globe inside is adjustable and used as diffuser. Ball-bearing inside the lamp. Black plastic bottom. Bakelite E14 socket.
This beautiful pair is from 70s production. Excellent conditions, with a nice glossy orange painting. Perfectly working. Standard E14 bulb – best if mirrored. Standard EU plug – work outside EU with a simple adapter.
