These Space Age eyeball wall lamps from the 1970s combine playful spherical geometry with the expressive use of color and reflective materials characteristic of the period. Presented as a contrasting pair in red and dark blue, the lamps feature glossy metal shades, broad chrome-finished circular fronts and compact square mounting bases.
Each spherical shade is framed by a reflective metal ring surrounding a recessed light source. The contrast between the polished chrome surfaces and the saturated colors of the outer shells emphasizes the rounded geometry, giving the lamps their distinctive futuristic appearance.
The adjustable spherical shades allow the direction of illumination to be changed according to the installation. Designed for wall mounting, the lamps can be positioned individually or together, creating a balanced composition suitable for bedside lighting, hallways or decorative accent lighting. Ceiling installation is also possible, depending on the mounting arrangement.
The combination of spherical diffusers, metallic reflections and geometric bases reflects the experimentation that characterized Space Age domestic lighting during the 1970s. The contrasting red and blue finishes introduce a particularly graphic quality, while the compact proportions make the lamps suitable for both vintage and contemporary interiors.
Both lamps have been tested and are fully functional, each fitted with an E14 socket. They are preserved in good vintage condition, with light oxidation, small dents on the chrome-finished components and scattered surface scratches consistent with age and use.
