This Ministeriale brass desk lamp, dating approximately to the 1960s–1970s, offers a distinctive interpretation of functional modernist lighting. Its sharply conical shade and slender articulated structure create an elegant architectural silhouette, balancing precise geometry with practical directional illumination.
The sculptural brass diffuser is the defining element of the design. Its wide, angular profile contrasts with the exceptionally slim supporting arm, while the polished spherical joints introduce a refined mechanical detail. The circular brass base provides visual balance and stability, completing a composition built around simple yet expressive forms.
The articulated construction allows the position of the arm and shade to be adjusted, directing light towards a desk, reading area or work surface. The contrast between the warm brass surfaces and the darker central arm emphasizes the lamp’s linear geometry and gives it a restrained, sophisticated character.
Its design recalls the tradition of ministerial desk lighting, reinterpreted through the simplified forms and expressive metalwork associated with mid-century modernism.
Constructed in brass and weighing approximately 2 kg, the lamp features an E27 socket and retains the fabric lining beneath its circular base. Its approximate dimensions are 27 cm deep, 45 cm wide and 40 cm high, varying according to the adjustment of the arm and shade. The lamp is preserved in good vintage condition, with scattered surface marks and traces of oxidation consistent with age and use.
