The Panda lamp is one of the most recognizable lighting designs created by Ambrogio Pozzi during the vibrant experimentation of Italian design in the 1970s.
Built from two interlocking moulded plastic elements, this red Panda lamp achieves a remarkable balance between simplicity and personality. Its compact silhouette resembles a small sculptural object rather than a conventional light source, allowing it to function as both illumination and decorative accent.
The vibrant red finish reinforces its graphic presence. When switched off, the lamp appears as a bold geometric form; when illuminated, it creates a warm and intimate glow that softens the surrounding space.
Like many of Pozzi’s most successful projects, the design is playful without becoming whimsical, and highly functional without sacrificing visual identity. The result is an object that remains remarkably contemporary decades after its creation.
Its compact dimensions make it ideal as a bedside lamp, desk lamp, reading light or decorative accent, while its strong sculptural character allows it to become a focal point even in larger interiors.
An increasingly sought-after piece among collectors of Italian Space Age lighting and postwar industrial design.
