This Murano Sommerso Vase from the 1970s is carved from a solid block of layered glass, where an emerald green core appears suspended within crystal-clear outer layers. The sommerso technique creates depth, density and a remarkable sense of visual tension.
Its sharply faceted geometry transforms the vase into an architectural object rather than a purely decorative vessel. Each surface redirects light differently, revealing flashes of saturated green, warm amber undertones and crystalline transparency.
The sculptural language recalls the refined Murano glass production of the mid to late twentieth century, when form, optical effects and volume became central elements of design. The result is compact in scale yet surprisingly powerful in presence.
Placed near natural light, this Murano sommerso vase continuously changes character throughout the day. Reflections shift, colours deepen and new facets emerge depending on the viewing angle, turning the object into a small sculpture of light.
Whether displayed on a shelf, side table, desk or within a curated arrangement of collectible objects, it brings colour, depth and a distinctly architectural quality to an interior.
