This rare ceramic Space Age lamp, signed SC3 Italy, was produced between the late 1960s and early 1970s and stands out as a bold example of sculptural lighting design. Made entirely of glazed ceramic, the lamp features a spherical body with a large frontal opening and a rotating internal disc that allows the user to modulate the intensity and direction of light—evoking the poetic motion of an eclipse.
Light escapes dramatically from the open front while gently radiating through the perforated top, creating a warm, ambient glow. The glossy white glaze enhances its celestial form, making it equally impactful lit or unlit.
This is more than just a lamp—it’s a functional sculpture and a statement piece of vintage Italian Space Age design. In excellent vintage condition, it features its original wiring (E27 socket, inline switch) and is ready to illuminate your modernist or retro-futuristic interior.
